Where the best drawings, paintings and sculpture come from

Where the best Drawings, paintings and sculpture come from is a sense of invention. Intuitive in nature, the artist must rely on his innate perception of what works and what doesn’t.

Once the artist establishes a higher skill level and allows intuitive sense to take over the creative process flourishes. I think when you see an artist that isn’t afraid to push the parameters of their art you will find a divergence of elements and styles that spew fourth energy.

Most artists that create this way find it a very un-specific and un-settling way of working and yet they receive it with open arms.. Where a canvas starts and where it ends up are most likely 2 different things. No formulas for painting exist because as quickly as they surface they are discarded. The artist becomes engrossed while at the same time un-attached to the physical-ness of the act of painting.

“I find ways to gather and process information that keeps me interested” DG

If an artist finds their own work interesting so will the viewer. Next time you look at an artists work and talk to the them pay attention to their enthusiasm about their work. The energy of the space in which the artist works will tell the story if you are fortunate enough to see their studio.
